Data Deletion

How the channel operator can revoke API access and how viewers can request removal of eligible locally retained information.

Effective date: July 27, 2026

For the channel operator

  1. Open the Google Account permissions page.
  2. Locate the OAuth client associated with Athena Sound Radio Control.
  3. Select the client and remove its access.
  4. Remove the locally stored OAuth credential from the private application through its disconnect control.

Revocation prevents new YouTube API requests until the operator explicitly authorizes the application again.

For live-chat participants

A viewer may request deletion of eligible locally retained public live-chat information. Use the public business contact method listed on the Athena Sound channel.

Include enough information to identify the record:

  • Your YouTube display name or channel URL.
  • The message text or a distinctive part of it.
  • The broadcast title or URL.
  • The date and approximate time the message was posted.

What happens next

The operator will verify the request, locate eligible local records, and delete or de-identify them within 30 days. A request cannot remove data held independently by Google or YouTube; those controls must be exercised through the relevant Google or YouTube account.

Automatic retention controls

YouTube API data is retained only as long as needed for operation and compliance. Data subject to YouTube API Services refresh or deletion requirements is refreshed or deleted within the applicable period. Diagnostic data that no longer identifies a viewer may be retained for reliability analysis.
